India’s First Glyphosate-Free A2 Ghee from Two Brothers

By DairyNews7x7•Published on January 13, 2026

In a significant development for product quality and consumer trust in the dairy sector, Two Brothers Organic Farms has announced that its A2 cultured ghee has received India’s first glyphosate residue-free certification — a distinction that sets a new benchmark in dairy product safety and purity. The certification, issued by a recognised third-party testing and standards body, confirms that the product is free from detectable glyphosate, a widely used herbicide that has raised safety and regulatory concerns globally.

Glyphosate — the active ingredient in many popular weedkillers — has been the subject of intense scientific debate over its potential health effects when present as residues in food products. While regulatory limits on glyphosate vary by jurisdiction, certification that a dairy product is entirely free of the residue can be a compelling differentiator in the premium and organic dairy segment, especially among health-conscious consumers and export markets with strict residue standards.

Two Brothers Organic Farms, known for its premium A2 milk and ghee products, achieved this milestone after rigorous testing across multiple batches. The A2 cultured ghee, valued for its probiotic and digestion-oriented qualities, now carries this glyphosate-free mark as part of its quality assurance label, bolstering consumer confidence and positioning the brand at the forefront of purity-focused dairy innovation.

Industry observers say that this certification could have broader implications for the premium and functional dairy segment in India. As consumers become more aware of chemical residues and their possible health implications, brands that can demonstrably guarantee “clean” supply chains — from fodder quality to final product testing — stand to gain market share. Certification also aligns with greater regulatory scrutiny and international residue standards required by export destinations such as the EU, US, and Gulf markets.

This development adds to the growing trend of certified dairy products in the Indian market, including organic milk, A2 formats, lactose-free variants, and fortified functional offerings. In a landscape where dairy products are increasingly evaluated not just on taste, nutrition, and origin but also on traceability and safety credentials, glyphosate-free certification can be a strong brand differentiator.

For Two Brothers Organic Farms, the award of this certification reinforces its strategy of premium positioning and quality leadership. It also signals to other dairy players that meeting stricter residue and safety standards can be both a quality commitment and a commercial advantage — especially as Indian consumers become more discerning and global export standards tighten.
