Godrej to Invest ₹150 Crore to Expand Dairy Plant in Telangana
The Godrej Group has announced a ₹150 crore investment to expand its dairy processing operations in Hyderabad, a major move aimed at strengthening its presence in southern India’s dairy sector and meeting rising consumer demand for value-added milk products such as curd, buttermilk and flavoured milk. The expansion plan — part of an MoU signed with the Telangana government — will see Creamline Dairy Products Ltd. (Godrej Jersey) build a state-of-the-art plant on a 40-acre site, creating more than 300 direct jobs over the next three years and supporting additional indirect employment in logistics, procurement and allied agri-services.
The investment forms part of a broader Godrej Industries Group commitment of over ₹10,000 crore in Telangana, spanning dairy, oil palm agriculture, housing and other sectors, aligning with the state’s push to become a leading destination for agribusiness and industrial growth.
Godrej Jersey already operates multiple dairy processing centres across southern states including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and this expansion reflects its strategy to deepen the value-added dairy footprint, improve nutrition supply chains and capture a larger share of a market where a significant portion of the population still falls short of recommended daily protein intake.
