FrieslandCampina Sets Strategic Priorities for 2026

Dutch dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina has outlined key strategic priorities for 2026 as it looks to strengthen resilience, expand its market reach and focus on higher-value dairy segments after a challenging 2025 marked by global milk oversupply and price pressures.
In FY2025, the company reported revenue of €13.4 billion, operating profit of €507 million, and net profit of €328 million, while the milk price paid to farmers rose 7.5% to €56.93 per 100 kg. Milk volumes increased 2.4% to 9.27 billion kg, the first rise in eight years, with capital expenditure reaching €380 million and net cash flow from operations at €615 million.
For 2026, the cooperative plans to focus on cost control and operational efficiencies, building on efforts that exceeded cost-saving targets even as the company streamlined its product portfolio. A major priority is integrating the Belgian dairy cooperative Milcobel, acquired in 2025, which will expand FrieslandCampina’s milk collection network, processing capacity and presence in value-added categories such as specialty cheese, branded milk, dairy drinks and functional dairy beverages.
The group is also strengthening its ingredients business through the acquisition of Wisconsin Whey Protein, boosting production of high-value whey ingredients like whey protein isolate (WPI) and whey protein concentrate (WPC) for fast-growing sectors including sports, medical and infant nutrition. The company said the additional capacity, especially in North America, supports its long-term strategy of shifting from commodity dairy toward higher-margin nutrition ingredients, positioning 2026 as a foundational year for future growth.
