CM distributes Rs 1 crore to Gujarat Unions Under Gobardhan Yojana

The Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel distributed cheques of a total amount of Rs. 1 crore as the first installment to the cooperative dairy unions that have participated with the state government under Gobardhan Yojana. These co-operative milk unions include Amul, Sabar, Banas and Dudh Sagar Dairies.

These co-operative milk unions provide assistance of Rs 25000 per beneficiary to their members for building individual biogas plants from this fund and the beneficiaries have to contribute Rs 5000. Individual biogas plants are set up under the Gobardhan project by forming clusters of 200 members through these milk producer cooperative societies. The beneficiaries of such Gobardhan project implemented by NDDB gave a cheque of Rs. 5000 to NDDB as a public contribution of their contribution.

This Gobardhan project has been implemented under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin of the Government of India with the support of the Central Government and the State Government. These four milk unions will assist 1600 beneficiaries in 8 districts of the state for individual biogas plants for this Gobardhan project.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel presented these checks to the Chairman, Vice Chairman and office bearers of major cooperative milk producer unions Sabar Dairy, Amul Dairy, Banas Dairy and Dudh Sagar Dairies.

Minister for Rural Development Shri Arjun Sinh, Minister of State Shri Brijesh Merja, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, Principal Secretary for Rural Development Sonal Mishra and office bearers of major implementing agencies were also present.

The Chief Minister also presented a check of 62.50 lakhs to Shri Bharat Patel of BBEL for this project.
